Moving into a new home can give mixed emotions of stress and
excitement. There is a lot of work ahead but don’t let it be a
downer on your excitement. There are many reasons for a move
whether it is your first home, relocation for work, down sizing
because you children finally moved out etc. It is very important
to prepare for you relocation in advance to reduce and levels of
stress. In preparation for a self move we have attached a check
list helping you to prepare your self for a new relocation.
Plan in advance: Contact truck rental agencies well in advance
to inquire about rates and book your moving truck as early as
two to three months in advance. Be sure write confirmation of
all your expenditures and have a complete detail of your move.
2 Months Remaining: Go though you home carefully and make the
big decision on what you are going to bring with you to your new
home and what you are going to throw away or donate to charity.
A great idea to earn some extra money and purge items you no
longer want is to have a garage/yard sale.
Schools: If you are moving your children into a new school,
arrange a school transfer as early as two to three months before
your move.
Packing: Create a list of the items that will need extra
attention or careful packing, such as TV’s, china, computers,
etc. For your fragile packing items be sure to pack them in
bubble wrap, packing paper/newspaper to minimize any damages
that may occur.
1 Month Remaining: The time has arrived to start packing your
belongings. Start with the items that you don’t regularly use
everyday. To make unpacking easier be sure to label and number
the boxes. When packing, take note of your valuable items such
as flat screen TV’s or stereo equipment.
New Address: Don’t forget to fill out a change of address form
with your new address; this can be done at your local post
office. Be sure to contact your bank, telephone and cable
providers, credit card companies, insurance companies, doctors
or dentists of you new address.
2 Weeks Remaining: Call the truck rental agency to confirm your
reservation. At this time you may want to cancel or transfer any
magazine or newspaper subscriptions you may have.
1 Week Left Until Move Day! By this point most of your packing
should be complete. Remember to pack a travel back containing
the items you and your family will need on moving day. Common
things to pack are; change of clothing, tooth brushes,
medications, soap, toiletries and paper cups and plates.
Be sure to do a thorough checking of everything to ensure that
you are not missing on important details. Moving to a new home
you’re bound to experience some transition anxiety so prepare
yourself and your family emotionally and morally. For children
it is good to mentally prepare them for what lies ahead of them
at their new home.

5 Tips For Wedding Ring Shopping By Lisa Gunther
Your wedding rings are symbols of your commitment and love.
You’re also going to be looking at them a lot and wearing them a
lot. Here are some tips for your search for wedding rings:
Tip #1: Don’t Delay. Start window shopping and browsing right
away. You might think you know what you want. But when you see
all the beautiful styles out there, you might change your mind.
You need some time to see what’s out there and decide on what
you really want. Once you have zeroed in on “the one” be sure to
visit it a couple times to make sure it feels right before you
go for the final purchase. Don’t buy the first ring you see. You
want to feel like you’ve looked around and you’re confident in
your final choice. No regrets.
Tip #2: How Much Can You Afford? The old rule of thumb for how
much a man would spend on an engagement ring used to be one
month of his salary. Many times the engagement ring was part of
a set that later joined together and became the bride’s wedding
band. Gold bands are very popular and inexpensive. Average price
is around $300. If you’re eyeing platinum, you’re looking at
more like $1000. Precious gemstones or diamonds will add quite a
bit. The main point is to discuss your budget with your future
spouse so that you both have the same expectations. The bride
may have high hopes for an expensive ring set that the groom
cannot afford. Remember, there’s always the 5 or 10 year
anniversary to get lots of diamonds if that’s what you require.
Tip #3: Think About Shape and Style. If you’re very active with
your hands, you might not want pointy edges or a center stone
that sticks out too far. It might get caught on clothing or get
damaged. You might go for a simple band or a center stone that
is recessed in. Stones and intricate designs will trap dirt and
you’ll be cleaning your ring every few days if you want to
maximize its sparkle. If you are allergic to some gold alloy
rings, you can consider platinum as it is hypoallergenic.
Simple, classic looks will stand the test of time. Unusual
gemstones or designs may go out of style quickly.
Tip #4: Look on the Inside. If you’re purchasing an 18K gold
ring, you’ll want to see 18K stamped somewhere on the inside of
your ring. Platinum rings are stamped PLAT. Designer rings also
usually have a manufacturer’s mark. This is a good sign that you
have a reputable jewelry manufacturer. If you’re considering
having the inside of your rings engraved, take a look at how
much room inside you have and how long of a message you can have
engraved. At the bare minimum go for the wedding date so you
don’t forget your anniversary!
Tip #5: Proper Sizing. Try to do your final ring fitting in the
afternoon. You want your body temperature to be normal. You
don’t want to be feeling cold or feel hot or sweaty. If you have
a ring with a simple band or an area where part of the band is
smooth, you can get it re-sized at a later date if you lose or
gain weight. The final weeks of any pregnancies will cause you
to retain water and you may even have to just take your wedding
ring off for a few weeks for comfort. Some specialty rings may
have diamonds or a design all the way around. The fitting for
this kind of ring is extremely critical. Usually, you would see
a sample ring, get fitted to a certain size, and then your
special ring gets made to this size. There is no wiggle room for
resizing.
Don’t be overwhelmed with the ring shopping. You’ll have many
fun afternoons with your beloved shopping, walking and talking.
This should be a fun, exciting time. Don’t get stressed. The
right ring will almost speak to you when you see it and you’ll
know it’s the one.

Attracting Women: How Do You Do It? By Andy Hook
You may not be Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp, but you’re not that
bad-looking either. Yet how come you have a huge problem of
attracting women? Dude, don’t worry. You’re not the only one who
has this dilemma. The good news is that there’s still something
that you can do, and if you can master them, it won’t be long
before you get yourself a beautiful date:
1. Be smart. Don’t just pretend that you are. After all,
beneath the tuxedos and ties, women would like to be with men
who can talk about anything under the sun. It doesn’t mean too
that you have to get those pickup lines ready all the time.
Women these days are smart enough when you’re just trying to,
well, pick them up for something else.
Moreover, when you’re a good conversationalist, you can always
turn a rather bland date into something memorable. In fact,
women would never want the night to end because they would love
to hear more about what you’re going to say.
2. Let her know you don’t want to be just friends. Women are
very sensitive. They love to read men’s gestures and decipher
their words. They can instantly know if the man is totally
interested on them or not. If you are attracted with someone,
therefore, make sure that you can let her know about it. You
really don’t have to say it out loud. You can do it subtly
through your actions, perhaps a brush on the arms, a slight
touch on the hand, or a nice kiss on the cheek. Most of all,
when you’re in a crowd, make sure that she gets the most of your
attention.
3. Make her laugh. Have you ever wondered how Jim Carrey
snitched Jenny McCarthy, one of the most popular Playboy
playmates? It’s because Jim could make her laugh with her
antics. For some unknown reason, women always tend to gravitate
around men who have a good sense of humor. It could be because
these guys have a way of adding an element of “fun” into the
relationship. You know how too much seriousness can make people
so tense and boring in the end.
4. Flirt as much as you can. In truth, there’s nothing wrong
with flirting. It’s when you go beyond it to the point of being
disrespectful that you become really awful. Flirting is a very
good way of letting her know that you’re interested of getting
to know her more. You can also judge through her responses if
she’ll also have the same level of interest as you.
5. Always be a gentleman. Though there are women who are not
afraid to pursue, it’s still important that you’re the one who
does the pursuing. It would make her feel more special and more
secure of your feelings toward her. She may be liberal, but she
still deserves to be treated like a lady. So still take time to
pull a chair or open the door for her.
