And Then There Was One! By: Lateef Warnick

Ya, Jah, Ra, YHWH, Jehovah, Brahman, Elohim, El Shaddai, Adonai, Zeus, Theos, Logos, Krishna, Om, Heavenly Father, Divine Mother, Ishvara, Paramatman, Purusha, Allah, Sat and Lord – these are just a few of the more popular names in the attempt to label the original source and substance, creator of all the universe most generically referred to simply as God. With so many to choose from how do we know which one is the right One? Since the beginning of time man has sought to understand the cause of his own existence and the purpose of his life. We cannot prove that we exist to another and yet we know that we exist. Even if all your senses ceased to function you would still know yourself as “I.” Most rational people will acknowledge that they aren’t self-created. But if we are not responsible for our own sense of existence, who is? That Being, known as God, is man’s attempt to explain how we came to be. The world we live in today is full of all sorts of self-proclaimed “religious” people but how many have actually even taken the time to question where did the name “God” come from. The English word God comes in many variations such as gud, gudis and gott, which are the Gothic, Scandinavian & German versions. These words are all claimed to derive from the Proto-Germanic word “g(h)udan” of which its meaning and etymology are not quite certain. There is still debate but the general consensus is that this word came from a Proto-Indo-European word known as “ghutom.” This word was gender neutral and the word god didn’t take on “masculine” influence until the later evolution of Christianity. Ghutom is accepted by most historical scholars to come from either the Proto-Indo-Aryan words “gheu” or “ghau” which mean “to pour or libate” or “to call or invoke” respectively. The Indians contest that the natives of India, known as the Aryans, were responsible for theses words as part of their rituals to invoke God’s presence. The word “Aryan” means noble and the word Aryavarta is an ancient name for India, which means, “abode of the noble, holy or excellent ones.” There is also suggestion that these words are an extension of the Sanskrit word “huta,” which has the connotation of “having been sacrificed” or “one who sacrifices are made to.” All of this is great food for thought but what do we really know about this creator known as God? The vast majority of mankind across the globe from every religion, nation, culture and language has their beliefs about God. Although they all may have different stories, legends and history they all seem to express similar qualities of this Creator as being benevolent, merciful, loving, eternal, omnipresent, omniscient & omnipotent. So how could so many various philosophies all share common descriptions about God and yet adamantly disagree on God’s real name? Part of the problem is that the majority of religious followers who grudgingly hold on to their religious beliefs do not speak from their own direct and personal experience of the Supreme Being but rather from the holy scriptures of their religion and/ or teachings of their holy figure’s experience. In other words, many “religious” people are willing to defend, argue and even kill for a belief upon which they truly have no ground to stand on. This is the same thinking and mentality that lead to people being burned as witches, scientists being beheaded for their discoveries and the many wars being fought in God’s name. Ironically, the holy figures that actually claim to have experienced the Divine for themselves all seem to say the same things. Every divine saint may play different roles for mankind in smaller or greater fashion but their message is consistent. Each figure may have poetically, prophetically and metaphorically put his or her own twist on the Creator but in essence it’s the same teaching! That teaching most greatly seems to be that we are all souls made in the image and likeness of the Creator and thus perfect in essence. Our only purpose is to come to realize this for ourselves through spiritual evolution and conscious choice! Look at how similar their teachings were: · “Peace comes from within do not seek it without.” Buddha (Buddhism) · “At the center of your being, you have the Answer.” Lao-Tse (Taoism) · “The best richness is the richness of the soul.” Muhammed (Islam) · “Behold the kingdom of God is within you.” Jesus (Christianity) · “Still your mind in me, still yourself in me and without a doubt you shall be united with me, Lord of Love, dwelling in your heart.” Krishna (Hinduism) · “I salute the light within your eyes where the whole universe dwells. For when you are at that center within you and I am at that place within me, we shall be one!” Chief Crazy Horse (Oglala Sioux Indians) · “Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a Spirit is manifest in the Laws of the Universe.” Albert Einstein In spite of whatever historical evidence may be presented, there will be those still unready to release their traditional belief systems. That is fine. Continue to hold on to what you are comfortable with but ask yourself “do I really know God personally”? If you sincerely ask the Source to reveal Himself to you He will set you on the path to find Truth. However, you must be humble and open-minded that the Creator may present Himself in ways that you may not have expected. When it is in your heart that you desire to know God before anything else, you will come to know from direct experience the same Truth that all enlightened souls understand. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what religion you practice or what name you use to refer to God. Most religions agree that the Creator is indefinable. All names He has been given have come from man. How can the One Source of all things possibly have only one name when He is the Source of all names? God is the God of all! Not only is He the same God of all religions, He is the One God of all times, of all mankind and even the God of all animals, plants and matter. And while there are still some who think we are the center of universe and may not believe in life on other planets, He is still also the God of all planets, solar systems, galaxies and the universe – the Alpha and the Omega! There is nothing that exists that doesn’t have its life endowed from this AbsoluteConsciousness. The One has become many through nature and the many must ultimately return to the One! Helping Children Through Stress By: Judy Wright

Why does a six-year-old become stressed when their parent loses a job? Why does an eight-year-old suddenly become queasy and ill when its time to go to Little League? Many feel that children live relaxed, stress free lives. This isn't always the case. Over the years I have had a chance to work with families and have had the opportunity to learn about what frightens children, what causes anxiety in children which in some cases can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.) Stress doesn't always happen to a child directly they can be witness to a traumatic event which impacts them as though the trauma is happening directly to them. We as parents need to be open and consider why certain behavior are happening in our children. We need to learn how do you distinguish the difference between stress and a temper tantrums. Is the stomach ache your child is complaining of the result of too many treats, or is it the math test they have tomorrow? Duration is key factor in telling the difference between stress, and normal childhood growing pains or illnesses. Does your child start to feel sick when the bus is coming? Is this a one time event? Then perhaps some calm discussion and reassurance may be all the child needs. Has this behavior been ongoing? If it is then its time to start paying attention, the behavior may be something which requires intervention by a professional. Another factor to consider is, is the stress age and developmentally appropriate? A clinging two-year-old and a nine-year-old who refuses to get out of the car are much different from one another. When you try to drop your nine-year-old off at school and they refuse to get out, do they say things like "I'm not getting out and you can't making me," then its time to sit up and take notice that there may be more going on here than just not wanting to go to school. Is there something at school that is making them so uncomfortable, and so unhappy they no longer want to be there, then it is definitely something that needs to be investigated more closely. The degree of intensity is also important. If the behavior is disruptive to the family and is become a major stumbling block to the growth or happiness of the family members then it is time to intervene. Recognizing Stress In Children: From the time we are born until the time we leave this earth we all have stress. Recognizing when a child is under stress, and helping them learn to work through it is a life skill that every adult who spends time with children needs. From the time we begin dealing with stress. Some babies are born very sensitive. They can have physical triggers such as feeling uncomfortable if clothing tags or diapers rub against them, or get fussy when handled by too many caregivers often become overstimulated. These type of children will pick up on stress around them. Toddlers often become stressed due to separation anxiety. Beginning daycare can be a very stressful situation for a two year old. They may become anxious for a number of reasons: they don't know what they are going to find there; how they are going to get around; what they are going to do. They don't know what the expectations are and consequently they don't go willingly. This can be coupled with a fear of being abandoned. A toddler being dropped off in a new place for the first time may be thinking, when will my Mom or Dad be back. They don't know that you will come back for sure. And since a two year old doesn't have any real sense of time, they can't understand if "later" is a few minutes from now, or a few days. Young school age children may become stressed just learning how the routine of school works, they may wet themselves if they aren't chosen for activities, they may be teased by bullies, or just not understanding what a teacher wants them to do. Sometimes these children feel like they aren't understanding what everyone else is and that can be a huge stressor for them. They don't understand why the children around them "get it" and they don't. Report cards can also be a major stressor, receiving a written report on how someone else is judging you can make a child cringe. Name calling by other children, not being invited to parties, or just not fitting in and feeling like they are disappointing their parents can also be a stressor. As children get a little older, around 4th grade, the academic part of school beings to become more difficult. If a child isn't understanding some of the material and someone calls them dumb, they begin to feel that "maybe I am dumb" which effects their self esteem. Around this time they may begin to grow apart from friends, other friends may move away, and there may be new people in the classroom to get used to. All of these changes can cause stress in school age children. It's important to support your child and help them realize that they will make new friends, and they won't be forgotten, especially at home. Fifth and Sixth Grade can be very difficult for many reasons, one of the biggest changes children in this age group are body changes. They may not realize the changes happening in their body happen to everyone, and they may think what's happening to them isn't normal. They often have fears that the changes happening inside them will make them unlovable. If they have a bad report card they may feel that bad grades are going to follow them around forever. Belonging also becomes very important. They may be trying to find a group where they belong. In recent years kids of this age are reporting more and more that they are being CyberBullied. If kids are going through any of these life events it is important for parents to intervene and guide their children to give them the life skills they need to deal with what's happening to them. During Junior High School identity become very important. Kids want to be part of a group of friends they identify with.Another important factor is NOT standing out from the crowd. Blending in is of major importance to them. Having others see their body can also make them uncomfortable. Think back to junior high when you were in a change room full of other students changing for gym class, and how it made you feel. Having others see your ever-changing body, often feels like a complete invasion of their privacy and they may think other kids bodies look better than theirs, or appear more developed than theirs, this can be a very traumatic situation for a young teen. For High School aged children appearance, lack of money, lack of fashionable close and a sense of not belong to what they feel is a popular social group can all cause stress. Date Rape is another huge concern for kids of high school age. Even though they may never experience a date rape themselves they may have friends at school who they know who have been date raped or have even witnessed it themselves. Youth may also find out after the fact that they were a bystander at a party or other event where a date rape occurred. Even though they may have had no knowledge a rape was occurring they may have guilt over having not been able to stop it, or at least help. They many not know how to handle it emotionally, may not know who to tell, or where to turn to for help. This can be an extremely traumatic situation for our youth. In order for parents to help our children deal with the stresses they are dealing with we need to be sure they feel connected to at least one adult they feel they can trust. They need to feel safe and secure, and loved. Being able to trust an adult to look out for their best interest can help guide them through these very stressful times in their lives. All it takes is one person, to help our children build the resiliency to handle the stressfulness situations they may come across in their lives. Letting your child know that you are there for them, to talk with them, to console them and most of all support them. While you can't always solve their problems for them you can help them by brainstorming solutions to situations without judgment or criticism. Let the youngster come up with solutions, this will make them feel this is something they can do, which will make them feel empowered to move through their stresses. A great way to solve stress related situations is to have fun with your children: go for a hike, play at the park, giggle and laugh with them. Dance with them, sing with them, and teach them that what seems like dark and dreary now will soon come to pass. I have confidence in you. I have confidence in your families. I have confidence in the world that we will overcome the traumas that we have suffered, that we will be better and stronger. We will be able to come up with more creative solutions, because we are the kind of people who can do it! Thinking Positive Vs Thinking Right By: Nathan Scheer

Thinking positive and thinking right are two different things, thinking positive can still get you nowhere although you arrive there being mentally happier and ready to go. Positive thinking is not bad it helps us cope with the day’s events in a manner that most people would find relaxing and laid back. Thinking positive allows ourselves a larger bandwidth of stress we can deal with before we finally crack and succumb to stimulus response. Thinking positive and acting positive must be used together to create a real harmony of this working relationship. By acting out positive events in your life you are thinking right by thinking positive and not acting positive is just thinking positive, although everyone starts at the beginning so it is a marker to place but it’s not the end. The beginning is positive thinking but we must branch out further and expand upon what we are looking for in our “Positive Nature”. For positive thinking for many is the hopeful feeling we have that things will work out. For example: Positive Thinking “I know I’m going to hit it rich one day” Right Thinking “I am wealthy now!” You attract what you think is plausible in your reality, if you think you can’t be rich or you can’t be healthy then you have just created a reality window that will correspond to what you believe, if you think that you are going to hit it rich one day then you will always be wishing for that opportunity to arise, instead of confirming your belief that you are already wealthy! Wealth is just an X factor, it can be anything health, romance or peace whatever you want really. Right thinking comes when you accept others for having what you have! But alot of people curse others for having more then them, but that kind of thinking really just curse the cursor! So with that in mind and this quick lesson you now understand the difference between positive thinking and right thinking! So next time you catch yourself thinking positive remember that thinking right gets you what you want. Remember hopeful wishing breeds more hopeful wishing. You must experience the emotions and visuals of having what you think about to achieve that true definition of what “Positive Thinking” should really be about. You must know it’s here and it’s solid and real. Your mind does not know the difference between what you think and what you actually do and we all know that like attracts like so bring abundance to you now! Because we all have the power to do so, we just get caught up in the real world activities and we let that influence how we manifest our thoughts! So now you know the difference between Positive thinking and Right thinking, now beginning practicing this technique and knowledge and see how practical it really can be with attaining goals and whatever else you desire during this life time. But the bottom line is, you must know you can have what you want and continue to feel great all the time. It gets easier after you consciously practice feeling good all day! A Wrinkle Cream With Hyaluronic Acid Is A Great Choice By: Dr.farid Mostamand

Hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate that is found naturally throughout the body. It works to keep the joints and muscles lubricated. Unfortunately hyaluronic acid has a short life span of perhaps one day in the skin, making it essential that it be constantly replenished to keep the skin nourished. If the skin has enough hyaluronic acid it will continue to keep the collagen production producing the connective tissue that keeps the skin structured as well as toned so that it is firmer and more youthful looking. But like many other things in the body, the amount of hyaluronic acid produced in the skin reduces as we age. It then leaves the collagen with less moisture so that it starts to sag and becomes dried out because it cannot maintain its level of hydration needed without constant replenishment. This in turn leads to wrinkles and other visible signs of aging that will continue to worsen if the hyaluronic acid levels in the skin are not increased. Why the Skin Needs Hyaluronic Acid The good news is that hyaluronic acid is abundant in the skin with almost 50% of the body’s hyaluronic acid found there. It is found in all layers of the skin and keeps the skin moistened by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water. The collagen in the skin is what keeps the skin firm and it is hydrated by the hyaluronic acid so that when the skin stretches it goes back to its shape. Besides retaining water that in turn provides needed nourishment to the skin, hyaluronic acid is also used to reduce inflammation and is vital to keeping the skin looking and feeling healthier. Skin without this vital ingredient will have that tired loose look that becomes wrinkled and unattractive and causes premature aging if not remedied. It has also been used in products to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, melasma or Rosacea and has also been effective in treating acne. It is, therefore, used in more than anti aging products but can also be found in products to treat discoloration of the skin or scarring. Where to Find Hyaluronic Acid Since our production of hyaluronic acid reduces with age, we need to replenish our supply so that we can repair the skin that has been damaged from environmental stress and sun damage or premature aging. It is found often in many skin care products because it is a great moisturizer making it extremely beneficial to the skin. There are many anti aging products available where you can get the hyaluronic acid that is needed for the skin. With creams, cleansers and lotions and other products there is no problem finding one, but the amounts of hyaluronic acid in these products will vary tremendously so you need to read the labels carefully and determine which one is right for you – and ensure that it is treating the skin condition that you are trying to remedy. You can also take health supplements so that you get the hyaluronic acid internally rather than by applying it topically to the skin. Some of the supplements with ample amounts of hyaluronic acid may be more expensive, especially those that are injected rather than taken in capsule form. You can find these hyaluronic acid supplements in pharmacies, vitamin shops or health food stores and they can also be found online through distributors or other online stores. Are There Side Effects with Hyaluronic Acid? Most products that you purchase to be used topically in a cream, a lotion, cleanser, mask or other treatment will not contain high concentrations of hyaluronic acid but as noted the concentrations will vary by product. Most people do not have any negative reactions to hyaluronic acid but sometimes people have a mild reaction like a rash or minor skin irritation that will cease when you stop taking it. If it is injected into the skin, it might cause redness or slight pain for awhile but rarely are there any allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid. It is recommended however, that you should not take hyaluronic acid during pregnancy or if you are breast feeding especially if taken by injection as the effects are unknown on the infant. About The Author: Dr. Farid Mostamand has written hundreds of articles on preventing the detrimental effects of skin aging. As the founder of the Focus Medical Spa and author of Aeless Skin obsession, he has first-hand experience with the most effective non-invasive treatments. Article Source: www.isnare.com

Led Flood Lamps - The 6 Benefits By: Carol Oon

Today the use of flood lamps has become a common occurrence across the world. Not only do they get used in a variety of different buildings for security purposes but also in vehicles. However having to buy replacement bulbs on a regular basis can prove extremely expensive. Therefore if you are looking to install any kind of flood lighting at your home why not consider installing an LED flood lamp instead. Not only can these forms of lights act as a deterrent to any unwanted guests you will also find that they can create a certain kind of atmosphere and appearance that you and others can enjoy. But there are certain other benefits to be gained from installing this type of flood lamp over the more conventional and cheaper kinds and we take a look at just what some of these are. 1. These ones are actually more energy efficient compared to the more usual times of bulbs that flood lamps would be fitted with. As already mentioned these do cost more to purchase initially but they last longer and so don't need replacing as often. As a result you will often find that you purchase only one or two of these lights where as with traditional lights you could find yourself having to purchase several as they fail a lot more quickly. 2. You will find that you are actually doing your bit when it comes to reducing the world's carbon footprint. This is because an LED flood lamp doesn't actually produce the same levels of heat pollution as incandescent or fluorescent lights do because they don't need to use so much power to help them emit light. 3. Even though most of the flood lamps fitted with LED bulbs require their energy to come from an electricity supply there are now some that are actually powered through collecting energy from the sun. As well as these types of lamps helping to reduce your electricity bills further installation of them means that you are using a renewable source of energy to power them and so is good for the environment. 4. You will find that installing an LED flood lamp is a lot easier than when it comes to installing a fluorescent style one. As a result it means that you don't have to spend so much time on putting them up and then using them. Also as already mentioned these lights use less power compared to both incandescent and fluorescent lights so they last longer and as a result they won't fail so quickly, and therefore won't need replacing as often. 5. These types of flood lamps contain a diode rather than a filament or inert gas. When they don't actually emit any kind of toxic gases as the others do and so not only are they far less dangerous to the environment but also to the health of you and your family. 6. If you choose to install LED flood lamps you will notice because they emit a much brighter and whiter light compared to traditional flood lamps you won't have to install as many. So of course you are immediately making a saving and also saving time on having to get them installed.
